Lower Loop Trail

We should have paid more attention to this sign and maybe we could have figured out the loop

We really considered walking with these little guys because their "leader" was pointing out really cool things

Crested Butte

Crested Butte

Walking sticks made the going a whole lot steadier

I think this is Yellow Sweet Clover

White Checkermallow

Geranium

Senecio

Sulphur Flower

Elephantella

Fireweed

Parry's Harebell

Prairie Smoke-kinda looks like a Dr. Seuss Truffula Tree

Penstemon

Bindweed
This was a beautiful trail that was a loop, but we couldn't figure out how it looped back. I look forward to walking this again with my husband who is a much better navigator. We did pay careful attention to the sign that told us what to do if we encountered a mountain lion. We felt comforted that we held walking sticks and that was one of the things we were to wave in the air. Thankfully we didn't see any mountain lions or bears.
