We had a beautiful but overcast morning this morning which is perfect walking weather for Hallie. She tends to not handle the heat very well so when there is no shade, we welcome the clouds. I like the Woods Walk because it's not a difficult walk, it starts out in the aspens and the scenery is really pretty. In past years, the flowers have been amazing, but not this year. I did notice that the lupine were beginning to pop back out on this trail. Our favorite thing on this trail today were the birds we encountered, especially the Western Tanager. Hallie spotted it first and we had a lot of fun watching it fly around from tree to tree. It was a beautiful bird to watch. We also came upon a tiny little wren that went a little nuts with peeping when we walked by a pile of brush that we think might have contained her nest. There were butterflies and hummingbirds out also. There's always something new to see on a trail.
